Stop that Pigeon NOW

The angry crowd following the Kings of Leon concert being canceled

Kings Of Leon were forced to abandon an outdoor gig in St Louis on Friday (July 23) by pooping pigeons!

The band were three songs into their set at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater when they announced that the concert was being halted due to “safety concerns”.

The birds nested in the rafters of the open air Verizon Amphitheatre and started to drop their ‘messages’ on support bands, The Postelles and The Stills and continued to give the Kings the same treatment during their set.

The band managed three songs before giving up.
Afterwords Andy Mendelsohn from the band's management said: "Jared [Followill] was hit several times during the first two songs."

In a statement he added: "On the third song, when Jared was hit in the cheek and some of it landed near his mouth, they couldn't cope any longer. "It's not only disgusting, it's a toxic health hazard.

A statement from the band said: "The Kings of Leon tried to carry on regardless. The band felt it would be unfair to the fans to cancel the show at that late moment.

Bass player Jared Followill said,  "We didn't want to cancel the show, so we went for it. We tried to play. It was ridiculous."

Kings Of Leon are continuing their American tour and are due back in the UK in August to play the V Festival.

Next time try wearing hats lads…or get a better venue!!
